Bios

Smokey lavender

Smokey lavender is a music duo composed of local musicians, Caitlin Barnard, a talented vocalist and Ryan stopforth a producer and guitar graduate from the University of Cape Town. Meeting through friends in 2020, they instantly hit it off with their combined passion of music and their enthusiasm to play and spontaneously create live music. With Caitlin's ability to weave encapsulating lyrics straight from the heart and Ryan’s experience in creating chords and melodies in the moment, they quickly discovered that their two styles were extraordinarily compatible. They have quickly built a repertoire of vibrant go-to jams that would quickly bring lively energy into any room.

Electric Mud

Electric Mud originally formed as a 3 piece blues band, but over the years the band has explored all strides of music, where the flavours of funk, rhythms of rock and roll, and melodies of soul have entered their repertoire. All the members of Electric Mud being lifelong friends gives explanation for the undeniable chemistry the band has when playing their own music, along with classic covers. When Benjamin Fisher, Matt Levy, Gabriel Wulfsohn and Kola Cohen come together to entertain on their respective instruments, it creates an atmosphere so strong and so intimate that you won't want to miss it.

Face Jackson

Face Jackson is a high-energy band who, since their return after covid from Thailand, have been absolutely ripping up the music scene in Cape Town. Their on stage antics and varied genre's of music are a staple for each performance and the crowds have been seen grooving to the band whenever they set foot on stage.

Meek

Meek is known for her persuasive sets that take you on a journey.

Her conscious choice of song selection reads a crowd’s energy & attunes a progressive build that tells a story.

Those deep baselines, driven by drums with memorable vocals have been described to place you in a trance-like state of groove.

Inspired by the divine feminine within the indie dance, dark disco, & retro house music genres - Meek’s sound is defined by distinct raving grooves to light-hearted melodies with deep baselines & memorable vocals in between.

Freqnsea

Bringing waves of music that allows us to lose and rediscover ourselves, using a multi-genre’d approach attempting to blend the unknown into the known, and visa versa.

Expect the unexpected. Layering classics with Afro-house baselines, integrating dark techno with psychedelic rock riffs and playing with sound to support fun and freedom.

FRQNSEA is a new alias, entering 2023, inspired by the depth and ever changing nature of the sea.
