10h30: June Bam will speak on “Ausi Told Me: Why Cape Herstoriographies Matter”.

12h00: Buntu Siwisa will speak on “Rugby, Resistance and Politics: Dan Qeqe and a people’s history of Port Elizabeth”.

14h00: Rory Riordan will speak on “Apartheid’s Stalingrad”.  


Friday 28th April 2023:

09h00: Chairman of the SA First People’s Museum Foundation, Ron Martin speak on “The Griqua People: from Piketberg to Plettenberg Bay”.

10h30: Investigative Journalist De Wet Potgieter will speak on “Rhino Poaching and the Syndicates Who Pay”.

12h00: Historian Dean Allen will speak on “Empire, War, and Cricket: Logan of Matjiesfontein”.


Saturday, 29th April 2023:

09h00: Historian Shalo Mbatha will speak about “Orderly Succession in the Zulu Kingdom”.

10h30: Former war correspondent turned novelist, Hamilton Wende will speak on “Voyages Beyond: The path from journalist to novelist”.

12h00: Journalist John Matisonn will speak about “Afghanistan: Every Empire Tried its Luck”.

14h00: Journalist Joseph Oesi will speak about “The ANC’s long-standing friendship with the former Soviet Union”.

After Joseph has spoken, he will be joined by John Matisonn and Hamilton Wende for a discussion on South African foreign policy since 1995.
