The is a lot of excitement lately on the opportunities that digital currencies and its underlying technology, the blockchain offers. From trading, mining or using the technology to streamline existing systems and processes, the opportunities most defnitely exist.

The Blockchain & Bitcoin Workshop is for individuals who are new to digital currencies and the blockchain technology. The workshop covers the basics of money, the history of bitcoin, bitcoin and its underlying technology, what the blockchain is, bitcoin and wallet security, compliance and regulation. The Workshop also highlights the future of this space as well as the companies and institutions that are currently using this technology.
 
At the end of Day 1, course attendees will know how to open their own bitcoin wallet, how to send and receive bitcoin, and how to buy & sell bitcoin. Attendees will understand what the blockchain is, what use-cases exist for this technology and why it is transforming the way people store, transact and send information to each other.

Day 2 delves deeper into bitcoin mining, mining pools, bitcoin transactions on the blockchain, software clients and front-ends, service providers that provide wallet services, APIs, payment gateways, explorer services and blockchain as a service.
 
The course covers many Bitcoin 2.0 topics such as smart contracts, smart property, side chains, decentralised services, world computers, and other exciting and innovative services currently being used around the world.
 
Attendees will gain an insight into the future of this technology in terms of innovation and disruption of existing traditional systems and processes.
 
Bitcoin has proven to be a divisive technology with opinions ranging from suspicion and mistrust to “the silver bullet to cure all financial problems”.
 
While certainly being none of those there is undoubtedly great promise in the technology. And, as it was in the early days of the Internet, it will take some time before the services that are being built on the technology are simple and useful enough for the mainstream to embrace it wholeheartedly.
