JPCCC Counselling Courses 2023

About

The Johannesburg Parent and Child Counselling Centre (JPCCC) is a counselling, training and development agency which provides short or long term therapy for adolescents, families, adults, couples, and play therapy for children. We train volunteer lay counsellors in basic counselling skills, working with children, and trauma and bereavement. Please note that a course in basic and intermediate counselling skills is a pre-requisite for both Trauma and Bereavement as well as Working With Children. 

Please note: Due to the complex nature of the work, all trainings will be conducted face-to-face at JPCCC in 2022, unless restrictions necessitate otherwise or otherwise stated.

Training Formats:

The Basic and Intermediate Counselling Course is available in two formats, twice throughout the year.

5 Day Options: 23 January - 27 January 2023 (in person 09:00 - 17:00) OR 26 June - 30 June 2023 (in person 09:00 - 17:00)

10 Week Options: Monday 6 Feb - 1 May 2023 (in person 14:30 - 17:00) OR 24 July to 2 October 2023 (in person 14:30 - 17:00)

The Working With Children Course is available in two formats, five times throughout the year.

2 Day Options: 3 February and 10 February (in person 09:00 - 15:00) OR 15 July and 22 July (online 09:00 - 15:00) OR 6 October and 13 October (in person 09:00 - 15:00)

8 Week Options: 15 February - 5 April (online except for final session 09:00 - 11:00) and 4 October 4 - 22 November (online except for final session 09:00 - 11:00)

The Trauma and Bereavement Course is only available in two formats, three times throughout the year.

2 Day Option: 18 August and 25 August (in person 09:00 - 15:00) OR 3 November and 10 November (in person 09:00 - 15:00)

8 Week Option: 2 August - 4 October 3023(online except for final session 09:00 - 11:00)

Activating Child Protection is only available in one format, once a year.

The course will take place on the 24th of February 2023, online, from 09:00 - 12:00
