Our Events:

GOLDEN GATE CHALLENGE

• Date: 26 - 27 May 2023
• Venue: Golden Gate Highlands National Park

This is a one-day trial run through the most rugged yet scenic mountains of the Free State, situated in the magnificent Golden Gate Highlands National Park. This event allows runners to traverse through the park and explore breath-taking landscapes while raising funds for the conservation activities within the Golden Gate Highlands National Park.

This one-day run gives you the opportunity to run into wilderness areas that aren’t accessible to the general public and comprises a range of distances that will test your endurance. We have the ultimate 50km for the elite runners, 25km for those who like a good challenge but aren’t yet ready to explore the full 50km distance, followed by the easy looking but still tough 10km.

In collaboration with the official volunteer organisation of South African National Parks (SANParks) and the SANParks Honorary Rangers (SHR), this exciting event raises funds for the critically endangered Bearded Vulture and the conservation activities within the Golden Gate Highlands National Park.

MONT-AUX-SOURCES CHALLENGE

• Date: 08 - 09 September 2023
• Venue: Royal Natal National Park

This acclaimed, often sold-out one-day epic trail run takes place in the Royal Natal Park, part of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg World Heritage Site and home to the critically endangered Bearded Vulture.

This challenge with a legendary 50km route offers the most unique views in the world. Runners traverse through the Mahai Valley, tackle the infamous chain ladders, and scramble down the Gully. The 21km offers a fun and challenging new route that is yet to be explored. This sought-after event raises funds for the conservation efforts of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife which does critical work in the Royal Natal Park in line with the conservation mandate as a World Heritage Site.

The Mont-Aux-Sources challenge, the king of all trail runs, where mountains are conquered through elevated grit.

THE NAMBITI CHALLENGE

• Date: 27-29 October 2023
• Venue: Elandsvlei Farm

The newest addition to the WILDSERIES events, this 2-day trail run takes you through the wilderness of the Nambiti Private Game reserve. This is for all the trail enthusiasts who are keen on experiencing a wild run in a Big 5 reserve. This event will raise funds for the anti-poaching unit that works that work tirelessly to protect our beloved heritage and wildlife.

We have a limit of 250 runners for this inaugural event and runners will have to run and enter in pairs. The event will be a 2-day run comprising of a 22km run on Saturday ending with a 16km run on Sunday, covering a total of 38km. This event is designed for families, friends, and colleagues who like to explore adventure and camaraderie together for a good cause.

The main race village will be on the Elandsvlei Farm bordering the reserve, where we have limited space to cater for only 100 runners. We encourage runners that don’t make the first “100” to book into one of the 9 beautiful lodges within Nambiti.

This challenge is a guaranteed adventure with loads of surprises hiding away in the wilderness.
