ABOUT
DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS (MSF) SOUTHERN AFRICA ON THE MOVE

NEARLY 60 MILLION PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD ARE CURRENTLY DISPLACED FLEEING CONFLICT OR PERSECUTION.
Doctors Without Borders witnesses suffering in dozens of countries and is shedding light on the human stories behind migration to advocate for the right of everyone to life-saving assistance.
Due to their race, religion or nationality, these people’s homes are not safe places to live and their governments no longer provide them with protection. MSF works around the world to provide refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) with everything they need from psychological care to lifesaving nutrition. We set up hospitals in refugee camps, we help women give birth safely, we vaccinate children to prevent epidemics and we provide access to safe drinking water.
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) Southern Africa is hosting a fundraising event, titled On The Move and aims to depict and bring awareness to the plight of refugees and IDPs in Africa and the rest of the world. The purpose of the event is to bring together MSF fieldworkers and donors to create a conversation around MSF’s fieldwork on humanitarian care for refugees and IDP. This topic allows MSF the opportunity to present the event as an art exhibition featuring photography, audio-visuals, images of work depicting life as a refugee and IDPs
You will be presented with an opportunity to view and purchase more than 40 pieces of fine art and photography curated by Jandre Pieters; participating artists include Luca Sola, Bambo Sibiya, Zanele Mashinini, and many more.
Please do join us for an interactive evening filled with exquisite art and musical entertainment by legendary South African Jazz musician, Hugh Masekela and Always on the move Electronic Violinist, Caitlin De Ville complemented by award-winning food.
