Ana Sciena Morning pages - Journaling for mental health (30 min)

Journaling has long been recognized as an effective way to reduce stress, help with depression and anxiety, focus your mind, and get more clarity about your life. It can be a great tool to use in a healing process for opening up and letting go of things that bother you.

In this short workshop, I’ll share my experience using the morning pages to help me understand my thoughts and emotions and the important role it has in my process of burnout healing. We will practice journaling together as I share some of the techniques I have used since starting to write my morning pages.

  • Equipment needed:
  • Writing paper/Notebook and a pen or pencil.

About Ana:

Ana is a Brazilian digital nomad who has been in the process of self-discovery for many years. In 2019, she experienced her second burnout that led to the discovery of the morning pages practice. This journaling practice was a major part of her healing process and her well-being routine to this day.

Fred Verclytte (Life Coaching)

For many years coaching has been associated with the field of sports. However, in the last few years coaching started flourishing as a method to help our human journey. Coaching can build awareness that empowers us to make the choices that will help us become who we truly want to be, and it had a pivotal effect on my life. During this workshop, I will share my personal journey with coaching that led me to become a life coach myself, answer any questions you have about coaching, and will demonstrate the experience of coaching in a live session with a volunteer.

About Fred:

Fred's passion for living a life of adventure and personal development led him to become a life coach. He coaches people on how to live an ambitious life in the image of their own beliefs and values.

Anat Shamir (Genuine Connections - How to create deep relationships that support our well-being and growth process)

Humans are social creatures, and we crave human connection: The sense of closeness and belongingness, of feeling valued, seen, and heard with no judgment, of feeling stronger and nourished after spending time with other people. All of those are ways in which genuine connections support our mental health, quality of life, and even increase our life span. Unfortunately, not all of our relationships are based on genuine connections. Relationships might feel shallow, in some we might feel uncomfortable being ourselves, and some might even be unhealthy for us.

In this workshop, we will inspect the different relationships in our life, understand which ones do not serve us, and which ones we would like to deepen. We will discuss what are some of the cornerstones that facilitate a genuine connection and practice empathetic listening and sharing.

  • Equipment needed:
  • Writing paper/Notebook and a pen or pencil.

About Anat:

Anat's passion is working with yoga lovers who want to go on a journey to live on this planet with feelings of love, content and purpose. After 4 years of working in education, she felt like something in her life was missing and realized she wanted yoga to have a bigger role in her life. She left her job as an educator mentor and became a traveling yoga teacher and coach. Using the yoga teachings that have helped millions of people live their authentic selves for thousands of years as a guide, and using the powerful tool of empathetic self-discovery, she offers her students to take the first steps in a journey to understand their core desires, remove mental barriers and have the confidence to carve their life's path without needing to wait for the “right time”.

Tara Jevon Stillness in motion - Active yin yoga flow (1 hour)

In this gentle-moving class, we will explore how we can connect to the awareness within that is present in the here and now. We will begin the session with a short meditation to help connect the senses to the happenings around them and the sensations within. This meditative state taps into the "seat of stillness," a relaxed awareness observing the flux of sensation. With a relaxed awareness, we will move into an active yin flow, exploring each pose with a pause to feel into its depth and bringing awareness to every external and internal shift. This practice brings awareness to the stillness within that is always accessible to us. Using this class’s principles, we can establish ways to respond to life and its happenings in a relaxed aware state, as we flow stillness into motion.

  • Equipment needed:
  • A yoga mat.

About Tara

Tara found herself lost in a sea of thoughts and sensation she could not make sense of. Through her traveling journey, Tara discovered there was more than the limits of our thoughts, yet our thoughts are a part of who we are.

She learned about Reiki and energetic exchange while traveling Australia. How to trust yourself while riding on horseback through New Zealand, and how to access the stillness within using meditation. She delved deeper into self-enquiry to understand the flux of sensation, thought and feeling while staying in complete silent.

Tara started to subtly communicate with all aspects of the world. She realised mindfulness can be embodied into our every moment as long as we can access the stillness in motion and understand the ever-changing yet eternal presence of being. Today, Tara uses her intuitive nature and accumulated experiences to help others move through their lives with intention and the ability to connect and respond with a relaxed, open awareness.
