On Sunday 31 July, the St Mary’s jazz band will give an exciting concert of contemporary jazz works in collaboration with young jazz musicians from the Moses Molelekwa Arts Foundation. This jazz academy in Tembisa helps children and young adults from the area further their music-making and often musical futures. The Moses Molelekwa Arts Foundation is run by Bra Monk, respected educator and father of the revered pianist Moses Molelekwa. On 31 July, the children from both institutions will perform separately for the audience and then all come together to present several jazz standards and South African works. Come and enjoy young people from across Gauteng making friends and memories through music.
