ABOUT

"Kiash Arjun and The Peaches" have been on the local scene for one year. Initially it was just Kiash Arjun on lead vocals and acoustic guitar as a one man act. Then, the band started to grow starting as a duo at the Aandklas Open Mic night in April 2021 with Siyanda Mnisi on bass guitar and backing vocals. Fokof Bar's charity event (with TipTop Dog Food, We Are Animals and TuksFM) saw the band add Alvin Drabile on keys. Lastly, a request to perform at the last Park Acoustics of 2021 with Jeremy Loops was sent in, and Stefan Smith was recruited on drums. Hence, "Kiash Arjun and The Peaches was formed". All songs performed are impossible to classify into one genre - there's a bit of pop, a bit of rock, a bit of easy jazz and even some slow acoustic ballads. The tracks performed are written by Kiash Arjun but the live performances are complimented well by the unique flares of the band members. As mentioned, venues included Park Acoustics and The Beer Garden at Loftus Stadium, but the venue most associated with the band is Fokof Bar. It has been a residence for our gigs and we have managed to fill up the bar at every single gig with university students and get them dancing in the front - that is something The Peaches hold close to our heart.

"Kiash Arjun and The Peaches" are insanely excited to bring their heat to Jarr Bar on November 19th, for one last gig together before they go their separate ways. There will be some special guests on stage and "Abnormal" will be opening.

"Abnormal" is a new pop-indie band formed by musicians involved in the University of Pretoria Camerata choir, Brandon Robertson (vocals), Alastair Scobbie (drums), Khumo Pege (keys) and Gregory Bath (bass). Brandon and Alastair have both collaborated with and supported Kiash. Alastair and Kiash released an instrumental track "Views" in 2021, and Brandon and Kiash have collaborated on an unreleased song called "Cherry Rose". Their inspirations are similar and include Sam Fender, The 1975 and Ed Sheeran. "Abnormal" actually started out as a jam session in the rehearsal room in between rehearsals for the choir and it expanded to something much more meaningful than a fun jam session. They are expected to bring heat to the Jarr Bar stage on November 19th, opening up for Kiash Arjun and The Peaches
