Potchpourri

Tue Feb 21, 18:30 - Tue Feb 21, 21:00

NWU School of Music & Conservatory Hall

ABOUT

The School of Music and Conservatory is delighted to formally open the 2023 Concert Series with the legendary Potchpourri concert, in which some of our exceptional staff members and a few close acquaintances of the School of Music and Conservatory will be featured artists. This traditionally light-hearted and accessible event will be held on the 21st of February at 18:30 in the Conservatory Hall, 66 Thabo Mbeki drive.

This year's Potchpourri offers an exciting medley of sounds that will appeal to a wide audience. The varied programme ranges from Grieg to Rachmaninoff and Anderson to Bolling, and includes several favourite tunes from musicals and the movies. The Sonata for Viola Four Hands and Harpsichord by the Bach family's 'only forgotten son'- PDQ Bach, promises to be one of the highlights of the evening.

Children and students are most welcome to attend free of charge, but are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item to contribute to the NWU School of Music food bank. Tickets are available at R120 per adult on the online ticket platform, Quicket. Season tickets for the entire semester are available at R720, and will give you access to eight School of Music Concert Series events.
