LEVEL 2: INTERMEDIATE - ADVANCED
You not too bad on a bike but need to improve your technical skills. Some amount of fitness is required as we will be riding to the West Loop and sessioning areas. If you are not comfortable in cleats, please wear flats.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
This is going to be a super awesome session of the WEST LOOP of VIRGINIA TRAILS.
If you have never ridden this loop you are in for a treat, if you have then you will know there are some really cool sections. Corners, rocks, uphill rocks and flowy downs. So if you usually walk these sections or if you would like to ride them smoothly then this clinic is for YOU!
We begin our session checking out the fundamental skills needed for this on trail session.
SKILLS COVERED:
Body position for smoother riding – understanding the physics behind riding a mountain bike ·
Body position for climbing and descending ·
Ascending and Descending Dismounts
Bike / Body Separation and Balance – how to correct yourself on every changing terrain ·
Cornering – how to maintain traction and where to look, choosing a line ·
Braking and brake control ·
Drops and Rocks
We will take this to the trail, where we will session the above fundamental in real life situations.
We will be doing a social braai afterwards so please feel free to pack your meat and drinks and join us with some banter and socializing.
