MOODSHIP

Moodship (aka Gary Thomas) is a highly celebrated and critically acclaimed South African singer and guitar player. His enigmatic style blends rich, moody song writing with a vast array of alternative guitar techniques and precision multi- tasking. Moodship has toured South Africa, UK, Spain, The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Czeck Republic, Denmark and France. He is known for his diverse performances that can go from the beautifully cinematic to the energetically virtuosic in seconds. After studying classical guitar in school in Durban, he graduated from UKZN with a degree in Music, majoring in Jazz Guitar and began performing live after moving to Cape Town in 2006. Moodship is an award winning live performer and music producer for film, documentary and theatre. He has released 4 EP’s thus far. He most recently won an Ovation Award at the National Arts Festival in Makhanda, South Africa.

WREN HINDS

Hailing from the small town of Ramsgate along the tropical east coast of South Africa, singer-songwriter and producer, Wren Hinds delivers a lush, textured and honest approach to crafting songs with a reflective lyrical sensibility that communicates deep profundity. In 2021, Wren Hinds’ solo work caught the attention of British record label Bella Union (Fleet Foxes, M.Ward, Father John Misty, Beach House) and subsequently, the UK label has signed a record deal with the South African songwriter which will encompass the release of all three backlog albums as well as future works by Hinds to be released on the Bella Union label. In a relatively short career, all the while flying under the radar with a rather low profile, Wren Hinds has proven to be a prolific songwriter, producer and composer, and an artist that is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
