Bay Harbour Comedy Wednesday Featuring - Thato Mabelane / Kate Pinchuck / Pius Xulu / Will Spogter

Our first installment of the Sizzling Hot Comedy Extravaganza was a proper BANGER, the turn out was insane.

We are back again this month with another fire line-up!!

On the bill is SAFTA nominee and award winning comedian , actor and writer Kate Pinchuck baby!! Fresh off her run at the National Arts Festival where she premiered her new special titled Trash Mouth. Kate is supported by the very funny Pius Xulu and Will Spogter hosted by our resident Thato Mabelane.

We are coming to you live at the Bay Harbour Market Sound Stage on 5 October 2022.

Expect rib bursting session of hilarity , a roaring fire, candlelight vibes and of course the ambience of Bay Harbour Market, including a few of our delish food traders and the Boom bars with a variety of beers on tap and a fabulous selection of wines! Tickets are limited!

Thato Mabelane

Joburg funny lady who immigrated to Cape Town in 2019.

Described by her peers as the freshest new voices in the industry.

Mabelane is a master story teller whose style of comedy is a trio of wit, personal experience and daily observations.

Quantum physics and rowing the ocean introduced her to the craft back in August of 2014.She hung around since.

Playing in comedy clubs all over South Africa & internationally headlining shows in Singapore and Thailand.

Mabelane is currently touring her debut collab special, Survival of the Funniest which premiered at the Baxter on 26 March 2022, the show is going to Die KoelkamersTeatre in July on 29 July 2022.

One of the challenges comedy faces is spaces to do comedy at, with her passion for comedy, Mabelane runs a monthly comedy shows in Cape Town to enable spaces for both new and established acts to perform their craft.

She is a phenomenal host, warm, witty, entertaining!

Kate Pinchuck 

Kate Pinchuck is a SAFTA nominated, award-winning stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. 

Kate returned from the 2018 National Arts Festival as a double Standard Bank Ovation award-winner, receiving acclaim for her debut theatrical one-woman show, Medusa Incarnate, which she created, wrote and performed, as well as her performance as the AI system SUSANN in dystopian future sci-fi, Gaslight. In 2019, Kate received another Ovation award for her two-hander stand-up comedy show, Frizz Pop, with comedian Lindy Johnson. 

In 2019, a Frizz Pop line-up show was taped by Black Sheep Films and is currently streaming on Showmax. Kate has been consistently rising up in the comedy scene and has taped two line-up comedy specials for Mannequin Films, Laugh At First Sight, (DStv on Demand/Showmax) and Funny People Africa (Showmax). Her stand-up can most recently be seen in sketch comedy and stand-up series Comedy Mixtape (SABC 2).  

Her film and TV work includes her role as Taryn Wiener in the Showmax hit Tali’s Baby Diary, for which she was nominated for a SAFTA, various sketches in Comedy Mixtape (SABC 2), and quirky roommate Anika in Amy Jephta’s rom-com, Late Bloomer (M-Net & Showmax).

She most recently wrote and performed as a correspondent on The Late Night Show with Mojak Lehoko for the Johannesburg International Comedy Festival and SABC2 and can be seen as the co-host of Social Gaming and Coconuts on GINX, DStv.

Pius Xulu 

Multi talented comedian , hotelier, DJ and voice over artist .

Pius’s leabdership exudes through his demeanor and jokes. He is so passionate about comedy that he fathered two comedy specials titled The Delayed Response and the Two in One . 

A master networker who is the only comedian that runs rooms in the burbs and the kasi. Thank you Tata .

Will Spogter 

Will Spogter is a one liner comedian , an extremely dry humorist. He has been performing in the Cape Town underground scene for a while

Will has played regularly at the Cape Town Comedy Club, the legendary Armchair theatre and various other comedy venues , any pop up gigs. 

One by one he WILL tell his jokes so catch them if you can.
