ABOUT
The Cape Town born McCoy Mrubata has been having a busy year.
In March /April 2016 he embarked on a USA tour with a super band , UHADI.
The band comprises of some of South Africa’s most sort after musicians :
Paul Hanmer, Herbie Tsoaeli, Feya Faku and Justin Badenhorst.
Upon his return he launched his DVD “McCoy Mrubata Live At The Market Theatre”
The DVD was shot on 30 April 2015 during the International Jazz Day and the launch was on the same day and at the same venue this year 2016.
In May he was part of a South African Dutch exchange band that went to perform at the Amersfoort Jazz Jazz Festival Netherlands.
McCoy has also just released a CD that was recorded last year In Switzerland, “McCoy Mrubata Live At The Bird’s Eye Jazz Club”.
In July he’ll be back in his home town for three performances at Jazz In The Native Yard sessions.
McCoy will be accompanied by Frank Paco on drums, Peter Ndlala on bass guitar and Blake Hellaby on the keyboards.

McCoy : I can’t wait to perform in my home town for my old friends , new friends families and fans. My repertoire well comprise of old favourite songs like “Cape Samba , “Icamagu Livumile and new songs from the current CDs.
