Vlakkenberg hike, Saturday 17th September

Overview

A family friendly beginner hike exploring the less populated side of Constantia Nek.

Route description

From the parking lot you will cross the road and walk a couple metres until you reach an opening in a fence. Go through the fence and follow the path that leads to the trail.

A gradual climb to get the legs working, you will definitely feel like you're hiking but that's the point isn't it. Start moving up the water course before taking the left turn on the trail that leads you to the Vlakkenberg peak.

A picnic at the top so don't forget your snacks. We'll then loop back onto the trail and descend the same route back to Constantia Nek parking.

Please note:

- The above distances and times are estimates

- The route is subject to change based on weather conditions and/or group's ability and other factors that may influence the hike

- Make sure you arrive on time as we will start the briefing at 7am and leave at 7:15am sharp

- Please bring enough food and hydration for 3 hours of hiking, a charged cellphone and a jacket.
