ABOUT
On Heritage Day, 24 September 2022, we are Honouring and celebrating the life of Dr Andrew Murray in Wellington, a picturesque town in the Western Cape:
The Murray family arrived in South-Arica in 1822 and this year we celebrate the 200 years centenary with the Murray family. Wellington became synonymous with the Murray family and therefore we will be launching two books on some members of the family.
A morning of books and refreshments at the Wellington Museum is the perfect way to celebrate Intangible Heritage on Heritage Day. The Wellington Museum, an ideal venue to honour Andrew Murray. Festival attendees will have the privilege to learn more about the Murray family and enjoy the exhibits of his life.
Listening to readings from Letters to his children; God se gestuurdes & Hugenote aan die Kaap. Sewe penne- a book of poetry about Wellington, featuring the poems by the winners of the 1st Wellington poetry contest 2021, will be available for interested readers.
