ABOUT
Your story is unique to your journey. Everyone has their own way of telling their story. What’s yours?
The Mantsoe Amacha Theatre and Dance Festival is celebrating Heritage Month by delving into the world of personal and creative storytelling at Sibikwa Arts Centre on 3 and 4 September 2022. Presenting performances and workshops that reimagine perspectives of identity, tradition and contemporary society, the festival asks: how do we ensure that all of society thrives within our diversity?
Mantsoe Amacha features performances and workshops by the Sibikwa Sisters, Lucky Dance Theatre in collaboration with Tulasi Entertainment, Vuna Lunka Vision, KwaSha Theatre Company, Spana Black Productions and Tefo Paya. Artists will also facilitate workshops using creative theatre tools for young participants to form their own narratives that are authentic to their lived experience.
Offering intimate perspectives on journeys of self-discovery, questioning the guided landscape of culture and tradition and navigating the challenges we face in our contemporary world, the festival encourages young audiences to explore ways to reflect, express and shape their own narratives.
