A little more about the artists:
EMMYLOU is a duo comprising of Emma Du Preez, who you may know from Oh Mercy and Landi Lou of The Betsies. Expect beautiful story telling, acoustic guitar, banjo and sublime harmonies! This is Country Folk music at its finest!
The Hugo Veldsman Trio consists of Hugo Veldsman on vocals and guitars, Gustav Franzsen on bass and Johan Pretorius on drums.
Hugo Veldsman is a professional musician that studied classical guitar at Stellenbosch University. He has released a critically acclaimed, full length album, called 'The Calm Before' and numerous subsequent singles.
His originals are largely folk-rock, often with blues roots.
Hugo's signature use of an acoustic lapsteel called a Weissenborn, gives the band a pretty unique sound.
The band has played at the STRAB, Up The Creek, Zeegunst and Gannaga music festivals. They've also played at the inaugural Paternoster Bluesfest and opened the Jim Beam's Welcome Sessions in South Africa with the Dan Patlansky Band at the Daisy Jones Bar.
The Incidentals are an acoustic folk-rock trio from Cape Town comprising of Chris on guitars and vocals, Brad on bass and Dave on vocals and drums.
Formed in 2019 the trio has crafted a captivating local sound that is undoubtedly their own. Songwriters Chris (formally with Chiaroscuro and The Swingsetters) and Dave (formally with Chiaroscuro, Palms Up and The Swingsetters) weave storied lyrics together with funky electric and warm acoustic guitars, vocal harmonies, smooth basslines and sultry, steady beats.
Despite the difficulty of live music during times of Covid, their performances continue to attract new fans across the country and excitement is growing around the release of their debut EP recorded at the award-winning Sunset Studios earlier this year.
Basson Laubscher & the Violent Free Peace
Witness blues-rock power with a band who delivers their self-written and composed music with intense passion and honesty!
With practice comes perfection which allows for every show to be a truly unique experience with some face-melting guitars, foot-stomping grooves, and a crowd that goes wild from start to finish. Interactive rock 'n roll with each band member intuitively reading each other's body language to create a symbiotic tight-knit experience you are sure to remember!
?

Laubscher is no newbie when it comes to rock 'n roll. The Violent Free Peace have released 2 albums to date and are certainly a band you don’t want to miss!
