Silicon Cape Tech Talks #YouthMonth

This month Silicon Cape will be celebrating Youth Month at our monthly Tech Talk. 

 

On June 16th 1976, 40 years ago, the youth of Soweto and Later the rest of South Africa started an uprising that was unignorable. They refused to have Bantu Education as a foundation of their learning. This uprising changed the politics of the country and was recognized world wide.

 

This month we celebrate the youth of 1970 through technology.

The theme for the event is Empowering Youth Through Tech and we will focus on how technology is empowering youth in the panel discussion. I have also invited MEDO, Sea Monster, Educade, Sibella and Technovation to be part of the discussion. There will also be a showcase of Tech education organisations like CodeX, Brothers4All, and Girlhype.

The event will start off with a welcome from the Silicon Cape Chairperson Daniel Gausco, followed by two to three brief sessions promoting various initiatives and projects that are being run by our community. We will then start the panel discussion at approximately 7:30pm.
