Presented by the College of Magic, the Mother City’s only magical arts organisation, the Junior Magic Championships will see 12 of the province’s top teen wizards go wand to wand in the dexterous art of Close-Up magic and stunning illusions of Stage Magic for the ultimate Junior Magician titles.

The College of Magic, the only organisation of its kind in the world, has been teaching the theatrical performing art of magic and its allied arts as well as vital life-skills to children and adults since 1980. Our young students have been featured locally and internationally performing all over the world to appreciative audiences.

Do I need to buy separate tickets for each Championships?
Each Contest is in a different venue with separate tickets needed.
What is the running time?
The Close-up Championships should run for approx. 70 - 80 minutes with no interval. Stage Championships is in 2 halves with a 60 min first half and a 30 minute 2nd half.
Who will be performing?
Our students, who range between the ages of 10 and 18 years old as well as professional guest artists.
What age is this experience aimed at?
The shows are suitable for family audiences from 8 years old.
Where is it taking place?
The Champs are taking place at the Homecoming Centre (HCC) which was formerly known as The Fugard Theatre. The Close-up Champs will be staged in the Avalon Auditorium with the Stage Champs taking place in the Star Theatre within the HCC venue.
