Watergate Takeover

"Founded in 2002 and located in the iconic Kreuzberg area of the ‘techno city’, Berlin, Watergate is one of the most famous nightclubs in the world. Berlin is famous for its great nightlife, world renowned clubs and world-class electronic music.

This October, we bring back Watergate to embark on another African Tour with Berlin-based headliner Lee Jones, further strengthening the ties between the ever-growing music scene of Berlin and the powerful continent of Africa.

During his 12 years as a resident in Berlin’s Watergate club, producer and DJ Lee Jones has been through many artistic changes. After his successful downtempo beginnings as Hefner, he quickened the tempo as MyMy with Berghain resident, Nick Höppneron and labels such as Ostgut Ton, Playhouse and Cocoon. He then refined his cinematic, jazz infused sound with solo releases on Cityfox, Watergate Records and Aus Music. 

Recently he has teamed up with Ninja Tune’s Fin Grenallfrom Fink to create Quantum Entanglement, releasing their acidic, 90’s influenced techno on Vakant, Liebe*Detail and soon their own label, which will also be presenting Lee’s long awaited new album. As a DJ he finds a place for all these flavours, whilst keeping a hypnotic groove on the dance floor."
