Salomon Hike Club WMN's Day Hike in Cape Town - Newlands Forest

Come and celebrate WMN Day with us in Newlands Forest! both WMN , men and kiddies are all welcome.

Overview

A classic Women’s Day hike following the lesser known trails and celebrating all WMN while sharing the outdoors.

Route description

From the parking lot, we head into the forest with a short climb up Littlewort trail to get the legs and lungs warmed up. At the top of Littlewort, we'll make our way onto Woodcutters and follow a lesser known trail up to the contour path.

Onto the contour path for a kilometre or two, climbing the "400 steps" in reverse you'll definitely be thinking about the doughnut that's going to be worth it at the end. Once back into the lower forest, we'll take less populated trails back to the car park. 

Please note:

- The route is subject to change based on weather conditions and/or group's ability and other factors that may influence the hike

- Make sure you arrive on time as we will start the briefing at 7am and leave at 7:15am sharp 

-Please bring enough food and water/hydration for a 3 hour hike, a charged cell phone and a jacket.
