Marimba Jam Festival 2022
Fri Sep 9, 18:00 - Fri Sep 9, 20:00
Joseph Stone Auditorium
ABOUT
The Marimba Jam Festival is the biggest marimba concert of the year! It is an opportunity for all of our students to perform in a formal evening concert setting.
This event demonstrates our vision of social-cohesion and peace-building in our communities through the power of music. The focus of the festival is a series of MASS ITEMS and collaborations where students come together from different schools to perform alongside one another on stage.
Starting in 2016 as an evening picnic concert for our students, the event has grown over the years to include music workshops, educational talks and panel-discussions to educate and empower the youth in the Marimba Jam community.
The program that runs before the evening concert is a mixture of on-stage rehearsals as well as a variety of workshop sessions. Our jammers can look forward to exciting drumming, dancing and other African Music educational activities. These sessions allow our students to delve deeper into their understanding and engagement with African music.
