ABOUT

Three musicians from three music backgrounds team up to share how their worlds collide through song and storytelling

Leomile is a singer, songwriter & composer from Maseru, Lesotho. Her name means

“One

who brings restoration” and is often given to rainmakers in her Basotho culture. True to its

meaning, her music is an invocation for the healing of African people on the continent and

across the Diaspora. Drawing much of her inspiration from folklore she blends her native

language of Sesotho with modern instrumentation and genres to tell compelling stories and

reinvent African soul music.

Her influences are vast, spanning artists such as Miriam Makeba, the globally renowned

Lesotho band; Sankomota, Nina Simone, Janelle Monae to name a few. This eclectic taste is

reflected in her own musical approach whose soundscape borrows from Jazz, Folk, Famo

(Basotho accordion music) and spoken word all tied together by her bellowing and

undeniable voice. Having struggled with feelings of alienation growing up in post-colonial

Lesotho, Leomile deliberates themes of identity and belonging while imagining liberated

present and future realities.

Muneyi’s music has been described as a gift from the gods, a healing experience as he connects the listener to his own narrative of Tshivenda folktales and modern sounds. Inspired by his Makhulu (Grandmother), his community upbringing, a love for language, vulnerability, human behaviour and personal experiences, his music has an ability to transcend language and connect to one's heart and soul.

A multifaceted artist, songwriter, composer, guitarist. His debut album ‘Makhulu’ spoke of lessons in love, loss and healing. He draws inspiration from artists such as Oumou Sangare, Ali Farka Toure, Jonah Sobateh, Beyonce, Thandiswa, Sade and many more.

From performing on European stages to the Apollo Theatre in New York, Gregory “Keke” Mabusela of The Muffinz fame has now embarked on a new journey as a solo artist.

This new journey sees the multi award-winning muso take on the stage name, Kekelingo, and is out with his leading single Siyaphi with soulful singers Ami Black & Zoe Modiga.

Earlier in 2020, Kekelingo released his single Khonza featuring Female Artist of the Year, Ami Faku.

Kekelingo sings in his own spiritual language which is expressed and sung through chant, with no meaning but translates through an emotive feeling.

The trio will be coming together to share their story, as one.
