ABOUT

We do Parties. Really good ones.

Starting in the UK in 2006, Goldswindler has produced unique & beautiful electronic music events, now growing as a renowned underground scene in Cape Town,  South Africa.

Each production takes place in a themed setting, and although our themes and locations change, we do keep one thing constant: the lineup of top class local and international artists builds a musical journey with their different styles and genres that turbo-boost you into what can only be described as a musical vagina, for that re-born feeling! Hallelujah!!!!

From Mansions to Fields, Gentlemens' Clubs to Barns to Hotels, once you've been to a Goldswindler production, you're hooked into a collective crew that puts the essence of "having it!" back into the party!

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS (Day of the Dead)

A for-one-night-only, high-end Electronic Dance Music production which will show-case top echelon local and international DJ’s & Producers, some who have never graced the shores of South Africa before, and others who are legends of the local scene!

For the 1st time in 6 years, goldswindler is going outdoors & co-producing this party with Black Media Digital Productions to bring you an audio visual experience in our Electric Church, which will blow your tits off and we have a massive and unique line-up to boot!

Killer Robot (South Africa)
Killer Robot began life in 2006 as a platform to host the best in local and international techno artists and djs, in the process quickly becoming recognized as a pre-eminent dj collective in its own right. With over 3 decades of experience between them, Ivan Turanjanin and Bruno Morphet have risen to be the primary exponents of techno on the South African dance arena. Killer Robot has also become synonymous with the staging of cutting edge talent, seeking out and hosting some of the biggest names on the international circuit, often with a prescient ability to pick upcoming stars.

The list of artists to have graced the decks at KR over the last 8 years is as impressive as it is diverse. From the the post industrial machine music of Alex Smoke and the dark soundscapes of Konrad Black to the future funk onslaught of Seth Troxler, Killer Robot has embraced all of the finest exponents of the artform and been instrumental in exposing them South African audiences.

Not content with just booking the talent, the Killer Robot residents themselves have toured locally and abroad, playing a series of influential club gigs as well as all of the biggest festivals in South Africa, Bruno has put in ling haul gigs on the notorious Berlin after hours circuit with the likes of Visionquest and Ivan has travelled as far afield as Glasgow's SubClub.

Killer Robot continue their quest for sonic fidelity whilst steadfastly refusing to give in to the misconception that South African audiences only respond to mediocrity, and pushing the boundaries of awareness wherever they get the opportunity.

Bromista (Argentina)
DJ Bromista is an enigmatic, yet highly demanded EDM artist from Buenos Aires, Argentina. With his true identity unknown, this phantom-like phenomenon travels the globe playing only at selected gigs for those who are able to access him and afford his fee. Bromista plays very rarely and is known to be very selective of the events he is asked to play at. His high fees are not for revenue gain - instead he charges with the intention of detracting from the mass audience, playing with the purpose of entertaining audiences who specifically aim for what he holds true to his purpose.

The extremely shy Spaniard is famed for performing with his face hidden, though at a performance for a French Supermodel in Lyon in 2011 he removed his head gear to reveal his face to the audience.

Bromista's sets are deep, progressive and emotional. It is rumored that he had just 3 gigs performed in 2016, 2 confirmed in 2017 and none have been agreed for 2018.

In 2011, whilst living in the U.K., we received an invitation to an underground party called Kimberley, known to those in a closed circle as "The Big Blue".

By being mentioned in Vanity Fair it might sound a bit poncey, but let us tell you, it's a flipping awesome weekend gig like no other!

Amongst the top class, secret lineup, we came across Bromista.

His set was incredible, enhanced by the fact that he played in the dungeon of this really old mansion called Kimberley Hall in Norfolk, and afterwards we were fortunate to be introduced to him by some mates who we ended up getting into a complete mess with in an old gypsy caravan later that night.

We thought we'd take a punt, and it is to our surprise, privilege and honor that via these friends of ours, he has accepted an invitation to come over and play at Dia De Lus Muertos in September this year

DJ Miss Creamer (South Africa)
"What I love about DJ'ing is that I love to love the music - And when I love every track I play, I start having fun up there on the decks, and when I'm enjoying myself, the party comes alive..."

DJ MC (Monique Creamer) has played at every Goldswindler event since it moved to Cape Town from Brighton, UK.

She works the crowd with her deep and funky progressive tech house, like no other female artist on the South African circuit, and will be filthing it up for the goldswindler faithful in the Electric Church for a first in South Africa magical mashup!

Best you be prepared to lose your shit on the 30th September midnight set.

Haldolium (Germany)
The twentieth century drew to a close at a time when some music appeared that gave
an interesting new spin to the flourishing Psychedelic Trance scene. Rather than
piling up excessive melody layers and packed arrangements which was usual at that time, the music of the project Haldolium evolved from a reduced and very considered use of sound effects and single melodies.

Dark acoustic sceneries, inhabited by mysterious, weird sounds delivered a
very atmospheric, surreal and trippy listening experience and redefined the term
“psychedelic”.

From their debut album “Deagua”,
Mario Reinsch and Mark Lorenzen from Hamburg received acclaim in 1999.

However it was one year later when the successor “H2” arrived, that finally confirmed that their project Haldolium became one of the major driving forces behind a new musical development that
rapidly took off: Progressive Trance.

Their double CD became an epitome for
this style with its already remarkable musical maturity and independence that was
featured not only on the deep, groaning and organically rolling Trance part but also
on the sophisticated Ambient disc that included five very complex and
emotional compositions.

Rapidly becoming one of the most wanted Progressive acts during the following
years, Haldolium's tracks like “2nd Movement”, “Be Real” or their remix of Pink Floyd’s “One Of These Days” became timeless anthems of this genre still being played at parties today.

Haldolium consequently became pioneers with respect to Progressive Trance, and although affiliated with other big artists who have played here, like NOK, Phaxe, Symphonix etc, Haldolium strangely never came to South Africa.

For this reason, we got in touch with their manager and convinced Haldolium to fly in from Bremen, Germany for 1 night and headline Dia De Los Muertos in the Electric Church!

For the first time in a long time, PROTOCULTURE will be performing in South Africa, for Goldswindler Presents: Dia De Los Muertos.

BIO:

“Everything he [Protoculture] touches turns to musical gold” - Armin van Buuren, A State of Trance

Only a few South African producers enjoy the success that DJ and Producer Nate Raubenheimer, better known to most as Protoculture, has had over the last 12 years of his career. Hailed by many of his piers as South Africa’s biggest dance music export, he has also left his mark on the international dance scene with his trademark blend of melodic and emotionally charged compositions and DJ sets.

Sucked into the art of music production at a young age, Nate made the leap to pursue a music career professionally after completing his studies in Audio Engineering at age 20, immediately taking the international psy-trance scene by storm. His international debut came at the United Kingdom’s famed Glastonbury Festival. With the release of his first artist album, “Refractions”, and the follow up “Circadians”, a slew of international performances ensued worldwide, seeing Nate travel to all four corners of the globe. From London to Tokyo, Sao Paulo to Moscow, Protoculture was a staple at psy-trance festivals around the globe, most notably at Glade in the UK, Universo Parallello in Bahia, Brazil, Earthcore Global Carnival in Melbourne, Australia and Ozora Festival near Budapest."

In IDM Magazine, it was recently announced that PROTOCULTURE is going back to his roots and launching Shadow Chronicles which is his new production of Progressive Trance.

PROTOCULTURE tours extensively worldwide and we saw a gap in his schedule between Jakarta and Amsterdam so we met with him and his manager and described what's going down to see if he'd like to launch Shadow Chronicles with us... and....
