ABOUT

Gallery Fanon and Beefeater Gin have come together to bring you a truly extraordinary experience.

Join us for a truly magical evening at Gallery Fanon, for our deliciously curated Dinner Club series taking place on the 29th of September. The event will be a celebration of visual arts, culinary arts, flair mixology and music, all finely curated by Gallery Fanon.

The event will feature an exclusive preview of the upcoming art exhibition by Gallery Fanon represented visual artists. In this edition, the featured visual artist will be Ryan Shava, the 22-year-old prolific South African artist with Zimbabwean heritage. At just 18, he was the youngest finalist of the Sasol Limitless Art Competition. His work is best described as Neo-Expressionist, with strong influences by Jean-Michel Basquiat, however with strong ideas relating to contemporary South African life. With international art collectors and aficionados buying his art and with a recent sold out exhibition at the Pretoria Museum of Art and 5 sold out shows in the USA through 1xRun in Detroit, he is a force to be reckoned with.

Our culinary artists will be led by Chef Charmaine Lehabe, our award winning talented Chef who is passionate about the culinary arts describes the kitchen as her sanctuary. Creativity, passion and fine-dining is at the core of Charmaine’s ethos and process towards food. Prepare to be taken on a culinary journey by Charmaine's creativity and passion with a 3-course meal paired with a curated mix of fine beverages prepared by Bheki Khumalo.

Bheki Khumalo is a regional winner of the World-Class Competition in flair mixology. Commonly known as the Dapper Bartender, Bheki uses African flavours and art as his signature, infused with themes of nostalgia. He will be using Beefeater Gin in his pairings. Beefeater Gin is a quintessential London dry gin made with big juniper character and strong citrus notes and is an authentic London gin made for those who enjoy the taste of Gin. Beefeater has a 200-year heritage and is an international premium gin still produced in the heart of London. Beefeater has been part of the Pernod Ricard group since 2005 and is renowned for its contemporary, vibrant and urban elements and is a refreshing modern take on today's tastes with a range of naturally flavoured gins. Prepare your taste buds to be taken on a journey of pure bliss.

Serenading the event with her beautiful sounds, is folk songstress Asanda Nectar Delihlazo, whose songs are rooted in traditional Xhosa rhythms and harmonies. She has taken the stage and sung in several theatre plays such as "The Journey", "The Zulu Queen" and "Sarafina".
