tertiary study fee

About

my name is Nontethelelo Mbatha I am a first-year student at the University of South Africa, studying Bachelor of Education intermediate phase teaching.

I have a problem with my school fees NSFAS last funded me in 2020 when I was doing my Higher Certificate in Education. In 2021 I was not admitted to study B.Ed. because I did not do the compulsory module (MTE1501) that leads me to do Non-degree purposes (NDP) doing MTE1501 for a year at school they told me that NSFAS does not fund NDP I have to pay for myself. It was very hard for me to pay for that module also my grandmother cannot afford to pay for me. I work a part-time job so that I can pay for my fees I paid my fees and completed non-degree purposes and got an offer in B.Ed. intermediate phase.

This year(2022) as it is my first year in the Bachelor of Education Intermediate phase NSFAS did not fund me they keep on sending emails that I have to upload legal guardianship documents. I did submit the document, but they send an email again to send a document, and that document a social worker was required to sign and it did sign for me and send the document to NSFAS but NSFAS said the document was not signed by the social worker, I really don't know what to do because when I write to them emails they didn't reply and when I call them I failed due to their buys line. It is very tough as NSFAS did not fund me this year.

My grandmother could not afford to pay my accommodation and my fees my mother passed away in 2010 and my father passed away in 2009. I grow up living with my grandmother she is the one who is responsible for me but as my needs grow she would not afford to pay for my fees and am not the only child who is looked after I also have two sisters that she takes care of. Now am owing accommodation and school what stresses me a lot is that I won’t be able to continue with my studies also I won’t be able to get my result for May /June results. Your help will mean a lot to me as being willing to further my studies and help my grandmother at home and my sisters.
