Mathunzi Macdonald (The Verse Music)

The Verse Music is a musical ensemble led by vocalist and musician Mathunzi Macdonald. Based in Gauteng,South Africa, the band performs across multiple stages in the style of Soul, Jazz, African, Gospel and PopularMusic.

The core membership of the band is made up of Jazz & Popular music graduates Teboho Kobedi, ThulaniSithela and Sakhile Twala Mathunzi sings the lead vocals for The Verse and manages the music compositionand arrangement aspects. With the assistance of co writers such as Menelisi Ngwenya, Mpendulo Sibanyoniand the producers such as John Lundun and Simz Kulla to name a few.

Affiliate and past members include Nolo Ntsoko, Aoriel Zamonsky, Keorapetse Kolwane, Ncamisa Nqana andNhlanhla Ngwenya.

South African State Theatre, Winnie's Soul & Jazz restaurant, multiple festivals and markets such as the 012Social Market, venues such as Starbucks Rosebank are stages that have hosted the musical ensemble.

Live radio broadcast performances on YFM, Power FM and Tshwane FM to mention a few. Corporate and privatefunctions also form part of the band's colourful resume.
