Umbono Youth Day Film Screening of "Buddha in Africa"

We are launching the Umbono Youth Film programme with a Youth Day (June 16th) screening of "Buddha in Africa" directed by local filmmaker, Nicole Schafer. The award-winning film follows the identity struggle of Enock, a teenager torn between his African roots and Chinese upbringing.

The screening will be free to Lidgetton youth. We are selling tickets as a fundraiser towards covering the basic costs such as the projector & screen hire.

We appreciate your support towards this event which we hope will be the first of an ongoing programme aimed at engaging midlands youth through film and storytelling.  

The Umbono Youth Film programme is a local initiative that hopes to inspire young audiences, develop skills and expose youth to career opportunities within the growing local industry.
