Slow Life and The Alliance Francais presents An evening with two songwriters - Jamie Jupiter and Nur Felix
Fri Jul 22, 19:00 - Fri Jul 22, 20:30
I have worked with both Jamie and Nur. Musicianship and talent I relish in!!
Jamie Jupiter is an uplifting and soulful multi-instrumentalist. He combines his rich, soothing voice with guitar, harmonica and ethnic instruments to create a deep and diverse easy-listening yet edgy experience. He plays his own compositions with well crafted ballads and bluesy, afro-folk riffs, but has no trouble pulling out great versions of familiar jazz/pop standards, folk-blues and legendary country material. At times he includes an electronic loop-pedal to layer sounds live on stage, from guitar and harmonica to various African flutes and percussion as well as voice and beat-boxing.
Nur Felix writes songs about love, positivity and truth in a fusion of Soul, folk and acoustic reggae. He has performed at the Baxter theater, Artscape, The Fugard, Cape Town Festival and many other events across South Africa. His music has been used for scores in local and international documentaries. Armed with an acoustic guitar, soulful voice and profound lyrics, it's easy to sink deep or jive along to his tunes.. Nur will be inviting bassist, Spencer Mbadu & percussionist, Michael De Wit to join his performance.
