SAIF Gauteng: VODACOM FOUNDATION & CAF Southern Africa (CAFSA) PRESENT: EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEERING
Thu Jun 9, 09:00 - Thu Jun 9, 12:00
Accolades Boutique Conference Venue
ABOUT
Employee volunteering is one of the most effective ways of enabling a company to mobilise its most valuable assets - its people. By volunteering their time and skills, employees are investing in a meaningful way to the growth of the economy, and, most importantly, addressing some of the socio-economic challenges faced by communities.
Volunteering is a key focus of the Vodacom Foundation. The Vodacom Change the World programme – established in 2011 – gives skilled and experienced individuals the opportunity to volunteer their time and skills by working full-time at a non-profit organisation (NPO) of their choice for a period of 12 months, at no cost to the NPO or the individual. To date, more than 80 volunteers have successfully participated, and each one of them has made a difference in the period that they worked with their NPO.
The Charities Aid Foundation Southern Africa (CAF Southern Africa/CAFSA) aims to strengthen the effectiveness of the non-profit sector through increasing the flow of resources to the sector. CAFSA has 500+ validated NGOs nationwide on their database and specialises in coordinating both local and national volunteering initiatives on behalf of corporates and their employees.
Participate in this discussion with the Vodacom Foundation and CAFSA on how you can ensure that employee volunteers add value to your organisation. Topics covered will include:
