ABOUT
Zoe Moleleka is a young pianist and composer who is
deeply passionate about the cultural heritage of his home,
South Africa, and is committed to the power of music. Zoe
has received mentorship from an impressive cohort of South
African pianists including,Themba Mkhize, Afrika Mkhize
and Nduduzo Makhathini, and performed as a sideman for
many celebrated artists Standard Bank Young Artist winners
Mandla Mlangeni, Siya Makuzeni, Nduduzo Makhathini, as
well as Professor Salim Washington,The Brother Moves On
and many others and is a dynamic band leader in his own
right. He recently featured on the critically acclaimed jazz
compilation record Indaba Is released on Giles Peterson’s
UK-based Brownswood label with the band Iphupho L'ka
Biko, as well as on London’s influential Total Refreshment
Centre co-release with Mushroom Half Hour, On Our Own
Clock. Zoe is currently studying at the prestigious
Manhattan School of Music on a full scholarship as a Hugh
Masekela Heritage Scholar, and has had the privilege of
studying with some of the masters of the music by the likes
of Buster Williams, Chris Rosenberg, Dayna Stephens, and
Jeremy Manasia since arriving in New York.
