Come and enjoy theatrical cabaret starring Cape Town based singer / composer / performer, Godfrey Johnson. The show features brilliant material from the likes of Jacques Brel, Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim and original songs by Godfrey Johnson resulting in an entertainment filled with fun, great songs, a special guest, fantastic piano playing and a touch of pathos. 

About the artist:

Godfrey Johnson is a composer, writer, cabaret artist, comedian, actor, director and classically trained pianist. He has been in the entertainment industry for over 30 years. He has been Pieter-Dirk Uys’ musical director and composer for 25 years. Johnson has been nominated for 7 Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards in various categories: best composer, best actor in a musical and best performance in a one person show. He has written musicals, composed film scores performed in musicals, starred in over 30 one-man shows, directed productions in various genres, appeared in numerous films for both television as well as the cinema. His international engagements include performing at the Montreal Festival, performing with Pieter-Dirk Uys in Amsterdam and appearing in a two-hander with Claire Watling at The Jermyn Street Theatre in London.

Recent highlights include performing the one-man play, VASLAV, directing Jan Groenewald in his play for the Edinburgh Festival, composing the musical, DIE VAN AARDES VAN GROOTOOR with Pieter-Dirk Uys and recording an album featuring the songs of Jacques Brel.
