Empower Your Practice - Therapist Training

Sat May 28, 08:30 - Sat May 28, 12:30
Eduplex Training Institute

A wide spectrum of therapy disciplines form an important part of any Special Needs Family's life.

At Parent Reality we would like to help special needs parents and therapists bridge the gap between day-to-day realities and the typical therapeutic approach. In this relationship between a family and therapist the success lies in the understanding of each other's expectations, realities and perceptions.

The training presenters of Empowering Your Practice have all been special needs parents for 16+ years and will share valuable first hand experiences.

This training focuses on the following aspects:

  • Therapist selfcare, self awareness & workload management - (Johanni Meiring & Nico Liebenberg)
  • Understanding the Parent Trauma (Grieving Cycle & Typical Parent Needs with Diagnosis) - (Johanni Meiring )
  • The value of parent-therapist relationship to improve therapy outcomes (Desirae Pillay)
  • Applying Empathy & Active Listening in therapy (Nico Liebenberg)

3 CPD Points WILL BE AWARDED for the completion of a relevant ARTICLE, and 15 questions. The article completion of questions will take place during our training session.

A course pack will be made available at the training.

Coffee and light snacks will be served during breaks.

We will spend the morning together at the beautiful Eduplex Training Institute. Networking, learning and finding new ways to bring change and bring hope.

For more information on the training please contact Johanni on [email protected] or 083 395 9387

PS: Funds generated will be donated to Parent Reality NPC (2022/229312/08) to contribute to the cause of emotional and informational support for special needs parents.

Looking forward to see you there!

Kindest Regards
