Chapman's Peak Sunset Hike

Join us on a guided hike up Chapman's Peak where we'll hopefully get treated to a clear and cloudless summit! The views from Chapman's Peak are quite stunning: Noordhoek Beach, Hout Bay and the Fish Hoek Valley dominate the show. We'll be up at the summit during golden hour, and then catch sunset at a point on our descent. We hike through 7-year-old veld and we will discuss general fynbos ecology as well as look out for all that's in flower throughout the journey.

Route: We do an out-and-back route up Chapman's Peak on standard footpaths which is a bit loose under foot when descending. The trail gains 440m in elevation over 3km, so a moderate fitness is required.

What to bring:

- Good hiking shoes/boots

- Dress appropriately (hiking or sports wear)

- Water: 1.5 litres per person (bring a flask of coffee/tea to enjoy while watching sunset...)

- Food: Trail snacks for our summit and sunset breaks 

- Headlamp / Torch in case
