The Internet Is Distract--OH LOOK a KITTEN! is hitting Maris Stella's stage this coming April! For two nights only, this quirky one-act comedy by Ian McWethy explores the rabbit hole of distraction many of us go down every time we go online.

SYNOPSIS:

Micah only has forty minutes to finish her essay on The Great Gatsby. She just needs to check one little fact on the internet first. Unfortunately, the web is a nefariously wacky place where boxing cats, Facebook drama, and pig-throwing games threaten to sabotage Micah's schoolwork, or worse... Will she finish her essay and escape the alluring forces pulling her into cyberspace, all before the school bell rings?

Directed by Lerushca Smit, with choreography by Tess Tjasink and musical direction by Kristen Blessie and Susan van Blerk, the show features 60 students ready to perform for a live audience for the first time in three years. From TikTok dance mashups, music videos, and anamorphic cats to a moonlighting Instagram content creator, audiences get to enjoy the lighter side of the internet.
