Suther Peak Scramble

Suther Peak offers spectacular views across Table Mountain, Hout Bay and beyond! We do an awesome out-and-back hike to the summit passing initially over shifting sand dunes, then through granite and sand fynbos before encountering our more familiar sandstone fynbos in the upper reaches. Diverse vegetation types shall result in a field day for lovely botanical delights. A late-morning coffee break and brunch at the top will be enjoyed where we'll also find a pocket of indigenous forest and interesting cracks in the rock outcrop which can be explored.

For the adventurous hiker keen on some rock scrambling whilst soaking up the most amazing views in Cape Town.

Grade: B-grade route due to a small number of technical rock scrambles. Generally on good trail, but there are also steep and loose sections of footpath.

Elevation: 550m gain/loss

Dogs: Not ideal due to some rock scrambles
