A CHANCE TO WIN R100 000
The Somerset College Lottery 2022 offers you the exciting opportunity to potentially win R100 000 whilst contributing to this dynamic Parents’ Association (PA) fundraising initiative.
HOW THE LOTTERY WORKS?
A limited number of only 1000 tickets at R750 each will be offered for purchase from 18 February to 14 April 2022. The holder of the first ticket drawn by Exceed Auditors at 12:00 on 22 April will win a R100 000. Multiple tickets may be purchased to increase your chances of winning.
The Somerset College Lottery will be held in compliance with the Lotteries Act 57 of 1997 for the purpose of allowing the PA to raise funds. It is subject to the Terms and Conditions* outlined here.
Society Lottery Scheme is registered with National Lotteries Commission (Reg. No. 00143/05).
WHO BENEFITS FROM THE LOTTERY?
Since its inception in 1997, Somerset College has grown from its farm origins to a world-class education, sport and cultural facility, benefiting our students and the wider community. This has been made possible by the generous contributions and fundraising of the College management and families who have passed through our school over the years. The money raised through the Somerset College Lottery 2022 will directly contribute to three key focus areas:
1. Acorn Bursary Trust (ABT)
Established by the parents and staff of Somerset College, the ABT is a registered Public Benefit Organisation that believes education is the greatest form of empowerment. Through the building of a capital fund to support current and new bursary students for their full five years of high school, the ABT has brought the excellence of Somerset College education to deserving candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds for over 10 years.

2. Teacher Development Fund (TDF)
Motivated, skilled teachers are a cornerstone to providing our children with an exceptional learning experience. In support of this objective, a core PA fundraising focus is the TDF, which offers opportunities for enrichment, growth, development and acknowledgment of the Somerset College staff. Therefore, the positive impact of your investment into the Somerset College Lottery 2022 will be felt directly by our students.
3. Student Development Unit (SDU)
The College’s SDU is staffed by highly qualified, experienced individuals who play a pivotal role in supporting our students through personal counselling, subject choice assessment, career counselling, learning enlightenment, academic interventions for students with specific learning profiles, study skills training and homework facilitation. The unit strives to create a caring environment where families can receive effective and appropriate assistance in a confidential, professional setting.
