Currently, women receive a paltry 6% of venture capital investment in Africa, yet make up 60% of the small business owners on the continent. The twenty-first century has not lived up to the promise of change that we expected. Heavy Chef is hosting two of South Africa’s most impressive voices on venture capital, Erin Louw, who is a highly-regarded and experienced Brand Specialist in the Fintech space, and Vusi Vokwane, a seasoned entrepreneur. We intend shaking a few trees with this event, asking some hard questions about the status quo and searching for solutions about the future.
