On the Couch Calendar 2022

Upcoming events:

Tuesday 6 September - Openness in Adoption & Alternative Care. What is it, what does it look like and how is it contribute to children's wellbeing? Come and join us On the Couch for a conversation facilitated by our Arise Team around this all!

Tuesday 2 August - Navigating Social Media and adoption: Contact, Boundaries & Openheartedness. Join us to learn more about how parents can navigate social media with adoptees and safeguard their stories!

Tues 7 June - HAIR! We know it matters, but do we know why? How do we do better as parents whose children's hair texture, curls and needs are different to our own? Come and listen to friends of Arise, Sim Mkiva and Ongeziwe Cloete, share how, why and what in a space where you can ask questions too!

Tuesday 8 February - Let's start with what we learnt! Alexa will be hosting this month's On The Couch, facilitating a discussion on the findings from the survey at the end of last year and listening to you, to ensure that as we look at 2022 we respond practically to what you have told us!

Tuesday 1 March - Ashley Rose-Innes, a temporary safe care and foster mom will be joining Alexa on the couch to talk about what it means to care for babies and children in between reunification or adoption. This is for parents who have adopted, are thinking about adoption or anyone who wonders about the interim care of children and wants to ask questions. If you are considering becoming a temporary safety care parent then this is also for you!
