ABOUT
The Lowveld Community Orchestra under direction of Lizanne Barnard has shown their steel in the musical CRUX earlier this year.
For their next concert, music from the movies is on the menu. Guest artist that will join the orchestra are Rhona van Niekerk (mezzo- soprano) Thembile Mahlangu (soprano), Ethan and Kalysta Hinrichsen (pianists), Cassandra Mönnig will also be conducting two of the pieces.
From a vast reservoir of possibilities, 12 pieces have been chosen and will be performed as a full orchestra, smaller ensembles and individual solos.
This concert will be enjoyed by the whole family and includes the well-loved melodies from movies such as Forrest Gump, Pirates of the Caribbean, Ladies in Lavender, Kungfu Panda and many more.
When last have you experienced the thrill of seeing and hearing orchestral instruments up close? This is a great opportunity to show your little ones what a cello or a trumpet or an oboe looks and sounds like.
