ABOUT

In this large scale Musical Theatre Production, professionals in the industry collaborate with the best talents in the Lowveld Community for a spectacular Easter Production.

On the day that Jesus was condemned to death on a cross, the Roman governor of Judea, Pontius Pilate, not wanting to have the blood of a man in whom he could find no fault on his hands, asked the Jews if they will accept the release of the Jewish anarchist and notorious criminal, Barabbas instead, but the crowd screamed all the more that they wanted Jesus of Nazareth to be crucified.

And so it happened that Jesus was crucified on the cross that was destined for Barabbas.

Against this historical background a fictitious story unfolds of the man called Barabbas and the man he became. The story is interwoven by heart-rendering original music in varying genres including rock, indi and semi-classical, performed by symphony orchestra, choirs, soloists and a rock band. No-one will walk away from “CRUX” untouched.

The character of Barabbas is played by renowned actor Zane Meas
