AWD Group Training (and optional Country Lunch) Day - brought to you by AWD Tours - (no experience necessary)
This course, which is suited for novices and beginners alike, has been designed to allow AWD vehicle owners (any make and model welcome), to gain valuable skills, in terms of how to drive and handle your vehicle on the off road.
Discover the fundamentals of an AWD vehicle in this half-day course and what your vehicle is truly capable of achieving once you venture off the tar road.
Lead motor and gearhead expert Nico Visser from AWD Tours, will take you out on the scenic Grabouw AWD Route, to demonstrate the key factors involved when driving your AWD vehicle on a challenging dirt road. Some of these crucial factors will include:
- The pro's and con's of AWD vs 4x4;
- Use of the correct tyres, tyre profiles and tyre pressure;
- How weather plays a role when driving off-road;
- Understanding your AWD vehicle's drive system;
- What all the electronic bells and whistles and vehicle features have been designed for;
- Approach, cross-over and departure angles.
A delicious and lovingly-prepared optional country style lunch (including dessert) will be served after completing the course on the veranda overlooking the Eikenhof Dam at the esteemed Elgin Grabouw Country Club - a stone's throw away from the AWD route.
