Leadership for Women Masterclass

Unlocking the Potential of Female Leaders

Online – MS Teams

This is an opportune time for female leaders to take up leadership positions and make impact. However it does come with its challenges where sometimes female leaders feel their voice is not heard, they battle the imposter syndrome, they lack the self-confidence to influence or they become inaccessible to other women once they are in leadership positions.

The African Union Strategy for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE), underscores the need for women’s economic empowerment as stated under Pillar I, “maximizing economic outcomes and opportunities (outcome 1.2), where women are challenged to push for their economic freedom thereby re-affirming the Africa Agenda 2063 - The Africa We Want.”

There is no doubt that the future of Africa needs more female leaders and leadership qualities that enable women to take ownership of their economic freedom so that they can participate and contribute fully to the sustainable development of the organisations they work in and Africa. Leadership development for women becomes a critical aspect of this agenda. In this 1 day master class we will discuss:

  • What kind of leadership is required for our contemporary context and what is the potential of women to provide or contribute to this kind of leadership? (What mindset, attitudes, what skillset and action set do they need to possess? )
  • What are the systemic, cultural, social, and economic barriers blocking the potential of women?
  • What are the personal factors preventing women to exercise their leadership effectiveness?
  • What are the current organisational challenges that can be resolved by authentic female leadership?
  • How does the LMI process enable unlock the potential of female leadership to overcome barriers and personal factors blocking female leaders from contributing fully in resolving organisational challenges

This highly interactive leadership course draws from psychology of leadership, organisational psychology and health psychology to build both mindset, strategies and tactical skills. Over this full day we will unpack pertinent topics to unlocking female leadership potential.
