TCN presents the 2022 VIP Bicycle Logistics East Rand Epic. An 8-Day MTB Stage Adventure, in and around the East Rand.
With a total of 600km of gravel riding, mixed with a little bit of technical (single track trails) and 6200m of climbing this is sure to be fun for all Multi-stage adventures.

Early Morning
Everyone will meet at 630am in the parking lot at the Summerfields Shopping Centre in Atlasville. All Trail park entries are covered. Coffee is sponsored by VIP Bicycle Logistics.
Fuelling on your ride.
Please remember rides will be 3+ hours. It is at upmost importance to fuel accordingly. Please bring bottles with plenty of water (we wil also stop ½ way on each ride to fill bottles. Bring enough energy bars, gels to consume at least 60-90 calories per hour.
The Stages
Come and join in the fun of TCN's 1st Hill Climb Challenge, on Saturday 26 February 2022.
This is a fun challenge for those brave enough to take on 2,228m of climbing. Single Loop riders are also welcome.

STAGE 1 - Saturday 24 December: Summerfield to Riverfields MTB track in Glen Marais. Easy ride on tar to the park, then a 20km single track course, returning back to the M&B in atlas via tar road. No stopping in between
STAGE 2 - Sunday 25 December: From Summerfield we do an easy airport loop on tar. No stopping in between.
STAGE 3 - Monday 26 December: From Summerfield riding on tar till we get to Huddle Park at 25km, which is a multi-function MTB course with several jumps and technical riding. Stopping at Huddle for a quick bottle refill. On our way back we will be climbing Pepples over the mountain. (ENTRY INCLUDED)
STAGE 4 - Tuesday 27 December: From Summerfield we hit the farm roads, heading towards Irene. at 46km we start the concrete climb. Stopping at the Engen garage for a quick bottle refill on our way back.
STAGE 5 - Wednesday 28 December: From Summerfield we hit the farm roads heading towards Pretoria. We enter The Big Red Barn AT 42km. Taking the 20km single track course. Stopping at RedBarn for a quick bottle refill. (ENTRY INCLUDED)
STAGE 6 - Thursday 29 December: From Summerfield we head towards Modderfontein, at 22km we enter the Modderfontein Nature Reserve for a 28km loop. Stopping for a quick bottle refill, before we head back. (ENTRY INCLUDED)
STAGE 7 - Friday 30 December: From Summerfield we head towards Bapsfontein, and stopping halfway (52km) at the famous Broodblik & Coffee Pit a coffee and water refill, before heading back.
STAGE 8 - Saturday 31 December: From Summerfield we head towards Bapsfontein, and stopping halfway (33km) at the famous Broodblik & Coffee Pit for a coffee and water refill, before heading back.

WHAT YOU GET
We have a backup vehicle that will meet us on specific points if need be. Water and backup supplies will be available on the backup vehicle. Gravel Bikes welcome.

Please Note:
Fuelling, water and nutarian are for your own accord. Please make sure you are prepared. Its summer season and temperatures are in die mid 30s during the day.
Whilst all safety measures are taken, and accommodated backup vehicle is present, TCN and VIP do not take responsible for your safety.
Bike Events Rules of the Ride
By entering this ride you agree to these rules:
REMEMBER it is NOT A RACE. Be a good advert for cycling and show consideration to other road users and to other cyclists who may be less experienced than you.
Obey the Highway Code and warning signs, but be aware that the absence of either Bike Events' or statutory signage does not signal the absence of any risks ahead.
Pay due attention to the road ahead and to other road users; the roads are open to other traffic and you must ride with your own and others' safety in mind.
No Helmet, No Ride
We advise you to ride in single file - NEVER ride more than two abreast and do NOT attempt any dangerous passing or cross the centre line of the road.
Keep a safe distance between you and other cyclists at all times, as some may be inexperienced.
The ride is NOT a race - MODERATE YOUR SPEED, especially on downhill sections.
Signal any intention to turn left or right and DON'T STOP SUDDENLY as there may be traffic / other riders directly behind you.
You MUST bring a full water bottle and any necessary medication with you.
You MUST display your arm band number on the day.
Do NOT wear headphones while cycling.
Riders 16 or under MUST be accompanied by an adult over 18, and MUST WEAR A HELMET.
Check your bike is in good order, especially the brakes and get it serviced before the event. If you require help, get off the road and call the Emergency Number.
Respect the local environment, refreshment stop facilities, fellow cyclists and road users. Take litter home with you.
By entering this ride you agree to these rules and the following conditions:
I understand that this event is not a race and all riders must obey the Highway Code and the Bike Events Rules of the Road. Cycling can be a dangerous activity and I accept that the organisers cannot be held responsible for personal injury, accident, loss, damage or public liability. Riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
All riders aged 65 or over on the date of the ride and any rider with a medical condition or unsure of their physical ability to take part in the bike ride must take medical advice from a general practitioner prior to the event. Entry fees are non-refundable.
TCN events reserve the right to cancel / change the date of events / change the planned route and start and/or finish venue due to circumstances beyond our control. In the event of cancellation or postponement of a ride, TCN Events will offer a transfer to another event or a full refund. TCN Events will not be liable for any costs incurred as a result of such modification, postponement or cancellation.
Photographs/Video taken on the route by TCN Events, may be used for publicity purposes by either of one these organisations. Please email us if you have any objections or concerns about this.
If I have symptoms of Covid-19 I will not take part in the event. I agree to my name and phone number being available to the organisers.
