ABOUT
Gaëllou is a powerful, indie singer song writer and she is bringing her “tight as anything” folk-rock ensemble to Stellenbosch and the Daisy Jones Bar in January.
Sunday 16 January 2022
Doors open 2pm
Show starts 5pm
Tickets are R50 online at Quicket or at the door.
A big thank you to Concerts SA, IKS Cultural Consulting, SAMRO and the Norwegian Embassy for their funding support of this show.
Gaëllou will share her riveting story of rebellion and triumph over a life long struggle with abuse and addiction. Her aim is to give a voice and inspiration to others who have suffered similar battles. Her band features well known local musicians, Grant Jackson on electric and acoustic bass, Kathleen Eggers on strings and Derek Craig (Old Dogs Band, Cami Scoundrel and The Feminists, Tim Parr Band) on percussion and drums.
Delicious wood-fired pizzas and a fully stocked bar available at the venue. Amazing sound, an epic stage and a mesmerising performance makes for a wonderful day out in the winelands.
No mask, no entry.
“Love is my Rebellion” the title of her uplifting new album and song launched to a sellout audience earlier this year.
Joining the band on the night will be legendary music man Willem Moller, a dude who recorded and produced her album and who has toured in the band with Sixto Rodriguez and who’s played with artists such as Nataniel, Johannes Kerkorrel, James Phillips, Tonia Selley, Wendy Oldfield, Steve Louw (Big Sky), Luna Paige, Robin Levetan, Heather Mac and many many others.
