ABOUT

ASHRAE South African Chapter in partnership with Daikin will host a practical course on Power electronics - Power electronics fundamentals, VSD`s, Power factor, and Harmonics.


MARC

Marc started his career in electronics as a TV repair technician in the early 90`s and spent more than a decade in the field of various forms of electronic repairs, including maritime. In 2006 Marc left for the UK and worked for JP Morgan for five years in building service engineering. It is here that Marc completed his refrigeration trade and also gained valuable experience in electro-mechanical at an industrial level. In 2012 Marc started with Daikin SA as a field technician and rapidly progressed into a consulting sales role with his focus being chilled water plants. In 2015 he became regional manager and in 2019 national product manager. Marc has also been an educator at Daikin since 2012 and currently also heads the technical training department for Daikin SA.


NISHAAL

Nishaal started his career working as a Plant Maintenance Technician at Huntsman Tioxide while completing his in-service training for his Mechanical Engineering Diploma. After 2 years in the plant environment, he went to work as a Junior Engineer for Mahesh Khoosal and Associates (MKA) for 4 years and attained exposure in Wet Services, HVAC Systems and other Mechanical Services. He then joined Richard Pearce and Partners (RPP) as a Mechanical Engineer and specialising in HVAC Systems, at Rpp he attained his BTECH in Mechanical Engineering and had left just after 4 years of service to Daikin Airconditioning. Nishaal joined Daikin SA as a Consulting Sales Engineer focusing on VRV and Chiller Systems Sales, while at Daikin he completed a Diploma in Specialised Project Management. Nishaal is also a technical trainer at Daikin.


The single-day course will be held in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg:

This event is limited to 8 participants due to COVID restrictions. Host venue COVID regulations:





  • Maximum 12 trainees due to COVID restrictions.
  • Temperature screening on arrival. Persons failing screening will not be allowed to attend the program.
  • Masks are compulsory upon arrival and screening. Wearing of masks during training is optional. There will be air purifiers in operation in the training rooms.
