FRANCOIS VAN COKE rose to fame as the iconic front man of legendary South African rock bands Fokofpolisiekar and Van Coke Kartel. On the 8th of April 2015, Francois launched his self-titled debut solo album and kicked his solo career into gear with the release of the most poignant ballad of that year - Toe Vind Ek Jou featuring Karen Zoid. In the same year Francois undertook three successful tours with his full band, Die Gevaar to kick off his solo career. He and Die Gevaar performed at various festival and big concerts, including Oppikoppi, Skouspel, Innibos, KKNK and Afrikaans is Groot in their debut year.
The onset of COVID 19 in 2020 did not hold Francois van Coke back. He released three notable collaborations: Die Toekoms featuring Jan Blohm, Fall with Matthew Mole and Kakmal with Van Pletzen. Francois also released a live album, Unplugged in Kaapstad, comprising of acoustic renditions of his most popular hits spanning his seventeen-year career as solo artist and lead vocalist.
