Suits & Sneakers: "I'm the Boss" with John Vlismas
Suits & Sneakers is so excited to get back to hosting informal learning events and we'd like to invite you to attend our first event in-person of 2022 which features a keynote by John Vlismas called "I'm the Boss".
We will be using this live event to record John's keynote and then will premiere the keynote online the next evening after the recording! We only have 200 seats available. Here is more info about what you can expect from John on the night:
"John Vlismas has been trying to evolve. Studying and teaching at a top business school on topics such as Empathy, Disruptive Thinking Methods and Coding Influence in Narratives has kept him thinking for the last two years. He claims this is a vaccine against binarism.
His current thesis revolves around identity, perception, trust, and the distribution of power in the workplace. Two recent events resonate with this topic: Gareth Cliff’s online interaction with Mudzuli Rakhivane; and the release of the new Dave Chappelle comedy special, “The Closer”.
John explores what identities are made of, how they process information selectively, how this shapes the individual realities we occupy and what realities take precedence. He’ll look at how power is awarded to identities – and suggests fluidity as one way to approach this complex issue. Delivered with mischievous curiosity and playful edginess, “I’m Your Boss” might be a good time.
You should book."
