The Seven Deadly Divas of Broadway - Gallery 44
Spectacular homage to Broadway arrives at historic Cape Town venues
Barbra. Judy. Julie. Patti. Audra. Lea. Sutton.
These are no ordinary names. They belong to seven sensational women who changed the very meaning of musical theatre as we know it today. Women who embody grandeur, talent and grace; women who demand their moment in the spotlight. To put it quite simply – divas.
The Seven Deadly Divas of Broadway is a loving tribute to some of the most formidable women to have ever treaded the boards of the Great White Way. Indulge in the incomparable collective repertoire as we celebrate all they have achieved and all they have overcome. With signature ballads such as Don’t Cry Me for Argentina, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, I Dreamed a Dream, Don’t Rain on my Parade and Climb Ev’ry Mountain, one is guaranteed to leave the theatre humming along, or even having shed a tear or two.
This musical masterclass is presented by some of Cape Town’s very own brightest stars, each paying a fitting homage to the women that inspired them. Supported by a magical ensemble choir, The Seven Deadly Divas of Broadway runs for a limited season that simply cannot be missed.
The Cape Town Theatre Company is back with a brand new musical theatre extravaganza. From the producers of the hit shows This Moment and A Boarding Line comes this brand new production, promising for an electrifying night out. The Cape Town Theatre Company is fast becoming the tastemaker of choice for all things theatre and hopes to continue building on this legacy in their upcoming season. The Seven Deadly Divas of Broadway is staged at two of Cape Town’s most historic theatre’s, The Labia Theatre and Gallery44 (formerly known as the Space Theatre).
